Since setting up in 2006, Bunbanter's creative work has grown hugely. With their radio plays airing worldwide and having received much industry acclaim, including winning the Best Short Drama in the British Public Radio Awards 2013 and previous nominations for both a Channel4 Talent Award and in the Radio Academy Awards 2012. As a company they have also produced several theatrical productions and past work includes commissions from The City of London and Keats House, The Dark Outside, plus an amphibious underwater play for WetSounds.
In addition to their creative work, Bunbanter also teachs the next generation about drama and audio work by delivering specialist workshops, private drama lessons and ongoing classes for schools and organisations across the South East. They run their own Saturday Theatre School, Development Workshops and previously Young Theatre Company; offering children and young people the opportunity to study various subjects including singing, dance, drama and media classes. In 2015 Bunbanter opened up a new second office in Dumfries and Galloway and now run their Scottish Young Theatre Groups and will be launching a number of new creative projects in the forthcoming future.
The Bunbury Banter Theatre Company is a community interest company, meaning we use our profits and assets for the public good, focusing on bringing the benefits of theatre, in all it's forms, to local communities.
